North Utah Lake At Night With The Oquirrhs For A Backdrop
This was taken from a few yards south of the mouth of Dry Canyon in Lindon, UT. I didn't have a tripod, so a flat rock on the side of the trail was all I had to steady the camera long enough to snap this 4" exposure. I was amazed at how much showed up in the shot with that long of an exposure time. The shot makes it look like its late afternoon, when in reality it was almost 9:00 PM in December.

Bridal Veil Falls
Located a few miles up from the mouth of Provo canyon, Bridal Veil Falls was named for its appearance, which is very similar to a bride's veil (thank you Captain Obvious).
An old Indian legend tells the tale:
Poor Norita. Not only did all of the other Indians never let her play in any Indian games, because of her unfortunately strange name, but she never got to marry her true love. The falls are also quite popular during the winter time with ice climbers. The ability to top rope the route makes it appealing for beginning climbers, and the convenience of the location makes it a hot spot for experienced climbers as well.

Back of Mt. Timpanogos from Deer Creek Resevoir
For some reason, the back of Timp gets me every time. Maybe it's because I hardly see it. Anyway, this is one of my favorite pictures of a backside (way better than that Car-dash-ee-uhn stuff).
There's probably some photography rule against taking pictures facing the sun, but I haven't learned that rule yet.

Nebo from Squaw Peak Overlook
Never spent much time in the range south of Springville, but Nebo and its foothills are an amazing area, with much less traffic than Timp. Your chances of getting tackled on a switchback by zoobies in skinny jeans and Converse are significantly less on Nebo than Timp.
Provo Canyon Looking over north Utah County
To me, pictures are so much better when they are of places I've been to or seen myself. There are so many amazing nooks and crannies along the Wasatch I've only been to because of my bicycle. I can stare at pictures of the Timp foothills for hours as I trace out the trails I've been on and peaks I've circled. Here's a view of the mouth of Provo Canyon. I love the spill off that occasionally shoots out of the side of the mountain. Saw it flowing today and had to snap a picture.
Up close and personal.
